Welcome to your weekly Tarot forecast! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! Meanwhile, the days are getting longer, believe it or not (a couple of minutes longer than the other day here in Oregon, and the sun actually came out yesterday!).
In the spirit of Christmas itself, I am using my Gilded Tarot Royale, from Ciro Marchetti. This deck is out of print, I believe, but Ciro has a great new self-published deck, the Tarot Grand Luxe, that is both beautiful and interesting, with great new illustrations of realistic people. It has character, for sure. But Ciro seems to like primary and secondary colors (which make his Minor suits in this GTR deck easily identifiable), and my draw has brought out his reds and greens. Very Christmas-y! I promise to do a weekly draw with the Tarot Grand Luxe, but I have just received it as a gift and have not shuffled it yet. 🙂
Since there is no specific question or area of concern for these readings, my interpretation will be very general in nature, based on my sense of what the Tarot itself is addressing and the general energy potentials for the week.
Let’s do a chronological look first, and then we’ll use some mirrored pairs to round out the message.
The Timeline View
We begin this week with the charming and impulsive Knight of Wands coming to visit the Queen of Pentacles. She rolls her eyes at this son of hers and all his harebrained schemes. You may have a visitor this holiday season who may disrupt your plans, but in a good-natured way. You’ll have to focus hard on keeping your house in order, but will also be in a position to generously support any at least semi-realistic projects that others may bring to you.
By midweek, a more practical energy will be delivered in the form of the Knight of Pentacles. Your Q of P will appreciate his steady approach, which may be used to balance the “go for it” energy from the Knight of Wands. Time to get down to business and make progress on your New Year plans.
Moving toward the end of the week, resources may be a bit tight, or you may be asked to help out those less fortunate. Charity donations would be well-timed at this point. You may want to look for a charity with a particularly sensitive and emotionally balanced leader (like the King of Cups here). He may also be able to help you deal with any material losses you might have incurred this week.
The Mirrored Tarot Pairs
The focal point for this view of your cards is that practical movement from the Knight of Pentacles. The whole week is themed on getting down to the nitty-gritty of making plans for the New Year, I think. On the astrological side, we are Sun and Saturn in Capricorn, so the plethora of Pentacles in this draw synchronizes nicely with the ever-grounded energies of Capricorn and Saturn.
Now let’s pair the outer cards up to see how they might inform your situation. So, the Knight of Wands and the King of Cups counter the earthy, plodding energy of the Kn of P. Taking a grounded approach is great, but you still need to move toward something that ignites passionate feeling (Kn of W and K of C). There’s just a feeling of smoothly and happily and excitedly, but practically, making plans for the future here.
The inner pair provides both a note of caution and a call to compassion and generosity. Whatever your own plans for the future this week, make sure that practical considerations temper your passions, and also use this opportunity to spare some resources for those in need.

Nice combination of courts… feels like the sort of planning that should be done in a new journal with a slow hand, ink and weighty fountain pen…
Thanks for the mention ?
You are welcome! Ah, someday to get back into fountain pens! Very Pentacle-y as well as creative (Wandsy). 🙂
