Week two of my exploration into the Universal Tarot of Marseille as brought up the following: Five of Cups, the Fool, Nine of Staves, Four of Coins and the Six of Cups.
Very ornate, and the Fool looks like he could use a new pair of hose. 😉
If you remember from last week on the 9th (I know it’s not Sunday, but book indexing deadlines intervened), I’m setting the center card as the key card and reading the other cards as modifications for a picture of what the week will be like. Looks like the main energy will be one of creative effort rewarded; at least the potential is there (staves and the nine). Unlike in the RWS system, we’re using straight numerology characteristics, so the nine acts throughout the suits kind of the way it does in the Nine of Cups in the Rider-Waite-Smith/Golden Dawn method.
First combination off this nice positive and active energy is the Fool and the Four of Coins. In this context, I’ll go with the Fool being unexpected news or advice (although perhaps not really wise advice) about the receipt of some initial material abundance (money, perhaps!) to break the income drought I am currently in or to contribute to my new creative writing activities, maybe. That would be nice. I would not expect this payment to be large, however, just a beginning.
Next, let’s combine the Fool with the Five of Cups to the left of it. Looks like the Fool may be bringing some disruption to my creative effort here. News about a little profit, but also a challenge (five) to my relationships with others. So, the Fool may be just that, a fool who thinks he’s got the good news but maybe there will also be complications.
Last, how about the Four of Coins/Six of Cups combination? Getting started on some good material prospects (four of coins) will continue to improve my mood and will help maintain good relationships this week related to my creative activities.
I’ll report on Sunday on the results. Meanwhile, if you are so inclined, please do give me your take on this five-card combination. Thanks!

Well, all work efforts paid off in small and larger ways this week. Got paid, finally, for some work done before, and hubby got three orders for his coin rings, which was nice. Made me feel good all around, but the Fool is still there, because not all the bills are paid yet and we still live in juggle mode with our debt. But things are definitely more stable than last week.
